What is the origin of the Rajya Sabha Secretariat?

The Rajya Sabha Secretariat came into existence in May 1952, with the setting up of the Council of States following the first general elections under the Constitution of India. It was originally known as the “Council of States Secretariat” and was renamed “Rajya Sabha Secretariat” in 1954.
