Is a member entitled to daily allowance during a granted leave of absence?

Modified on Thu, 17 Apr at 1:22 AM

No. A member is not entitled to daily allowance during the period of leave of absence granted under Article 101(4) of the Constitution. As per the Salary, Allowances and Pension of Members of Parliament Act, 1954, a member must sign the Attendance Register to claim daily allowance, which does not happen during an approved leave.
