Modified on Wed, 16 Apr at 12:42 AM

If a Member of the Rajya Sabha is absent from all meetings of the House for a continuous period of sixty days without permission, the House may declare their seat vacant under Article 101(4) of the Constitution. However, this 60-day period excludes any time during which the House is prorogued or adjourned for more than four consecutive days.
